State Systems Hires Memphis Native as CFO

Memphis-based total protection company State Systems today announced the addition of David Carlson as Chief Financial Officer.

Carlson began working with State Systems on a consulting basis in the fall of 2015. After State Systems expanded into the Middle Tennessee market with the March acquisition of Columbia, Tennessee-based Columbia Fire Equipment, and with an eye toward future growth, the decision was made to create the CFO role. In his new position, Carlson is responsible for overseeing the finance, human resource and IT functions.

Carlson is a certified public accountant and has served as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; as vice president of finance for Medtronic Inc., a global leader in medical technologies; and as CFO for MRI Interventions, a publicly traded medical device company. His years of experience will be an asset to State Systems as the Company continues to expand.

Carlson received his Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in accounting from Christian Brothers University. He is a native Memphian and currently resides in Lakeland. In his spare time, Carlson coaches local youth sports teams, performs volunteer work with his church and serves as his homeowners association president.
